History may be made Friday night when Aurora Christian meets Chicago Christian.

Aurora Christian quarterback Jordan Roberts needs two touchdown passes to become Illinois all-time leader. Last week Roberts tossed six TDs in a 48-8 rout of Lake Forest. Aurora Christian is coached for former NFL wide receiver Don Beebe.

A-11 Offense Makes All Players Eligible Receivers

Riverside-Brookfield is off to an 0-3 start, but the Bulldogs are getting quite a bit of pub!! That's because Bulldogs are running an offense that allows for all eleven players to be eligible receivers!!

It's called the A-11 offense.

Mother Nature was the great equalizer Friday night as Providence upset #1 Mt. Carmel Friday night 6-3 in a Catholic Blue opener for each team.

Rain throughout the game limited the teams to just three field goals with Pat Wright's 40-yarder in the third quarter being the game-winner.

Bob Sakomoto's Top 20 High School Football Rankings

For those of you who don't know who Bob Sakamoto is, let me tell you. Bob's is a reporter at the Chicago Tribune and is one of the best at covering high school sports!! The Lane Tech and Northwestern University grad really knows his stuff, and I like his honesty when it comes to rankings.

After Week 1, the biggest change from Sako's Top 20 pre-season poll was Glenbard North's 28-21 loss to Bartlett, which dropped the Panthers from #2 to #13, while Bartlett enters the polll at #12. Another dropper was Fremd from #8 to #19 after a 33-21 loss to 2007 7A champ Lake Zurich. LZ jumps into the poll at #11.

East St. Louis Loses Game in Kirk Herbstreit Varsity Football Series

The top rated 7A team in Illinois found out just how tough Ohio football is. East St. Louis blew a 12-0 lead against Huber Heights Wayne, and lost 20-12 in the Kirk Herbstreit Varsity Football Series at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati.

St. Rita Beats Ohio Opponent at Kirk Herbstreit Varsity Football Series

The Kirk Herbstreit Varsity Football Series, now in its fourth year, is all about seeing how well the state of Ohio does against powerful high school football programs around the country. In fact, the first three years the event was known as the Ohio Vs. USA Challenge.

Sunday night, St. Rita struck a blow for Illinois as it downed Lakota West 28-21 on a 5-yards TD run by Dave Marciano.
