IHSA Delays Decision on Maine South Football Program

by Jeff Fisher
Illinois High School Football Huddle

Defending 8A champ Maine South will have to wait until next month to find-out if the Illinois High School Association will levy any sanctions against the school in connection with the creation and distribution of counterfeit sidelines for its state semifinal and championship games.

Due to snow in the midwest, the IHSA has postponed a Monday meeting at which the school was going disclose the results of its internal investigation into the allegations that arose after the Hawks won their third straight state title Thanksgiving weekend.

There's no word on whether Maine South could be stripped of its 2010 title.  There have been published reports stating that IHSA officials doubt that the Hawks will lose their championship.
