Geneva became the first Illinois school to punch its ticket to the state football championships next week in Champaign. Friday night Geneva behind three second-half touchdowns from
Michael Ratay beat
Crystal Lake South 25-21 to earn at berth in the 7A championship game. Ratay's three scores leaves him one TD shy of the single-season touchdown record of
Billy Greenwald of
Highland set back in 1989. Geneva will play the winner of Saturday's game between
Glenbard West and
East St. Louis.
