Illinois High School Football Huddle
The Illinois High School Association has reinstated East St. Louis running back Anthony Pierson, Jr., who has been suspended since October while the governing organization resolved residency issues surrounding him.
Pierson had transferred to ESL at the beginning of the 2010-11 school year from Gateway Tech in St. Louis. He and another player, Charles Tigue, were suspended in October, which forced the school to forfeit five games that then forced the undefeated team out of the postseason playoffs.
The IHSA says that Pierson's residency and transfer situation has been resolved and he can play sports this semester.
Tigue remains suspended for violating residency rules.
